Taking a screen capture in Windows is really very simple to do. Just press the key combination from the keyboard WIN+PRINT and after a few moments, the capture will be automatically saved in the folder “Screenshots”.
By default, the location where screenshots are saved is “C:\User\UserName\Pictures\Screenshots”. If you take a lot of screenshots and want to avoid taking up disk space “C” or for any other reason, you can change the location where screenshots are saved at any time, through a very simple procedure.

Change the Screenshots folder on Windows
For change, the location where screenshots are saved on Windows procedure to be followed is as follows:
- Press from keyboard WIN+E to open “File Explorer” or alternatively, click on the icon with the yellow folder in the application bar;
- From the left side menu, select the item “Images”;
- Right click on the folder “Screenshots”;
- From the context menu that opens, click on the item “Property”;
- In the window that opens, select the tab “Path”;
- Click the button “Move”;
- Create a new folder or select the folder you want to use to save screenshots, then click the button “Select folder”;
- Click on the button “Apply”;
- Click on “Yes” if you want to move from folder “Screenshots” the previously saved images to the new folder;
- Click the button “OK”.
From now on, every time you take a screen capture, the image will be saved on the new location.
If for any reason, at a later time you want to restore the old path, the procedure the steps you need to take are as follows:
- Awards WIN+E to open “File Explorer”;
- Locate the folder where the screenshots are saved, then right-click on it;
- Click on the entry “Property”;
- In the window that opens, select the tab “Path”;
- Click on the button “Restore”;
- Click “Apply”;
- Click on “Yes” if you want to move previously saved images to the new path;
- Click the button “OK”.
