Dragon Quest X Offline reveals new release date

After a period of deferral, the Square Enix confirms that ‎Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline has received a new release date in Japan: September 15th, with PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC versions via Steam.

Players who purchase the PlayStation 4 edition will be entitled to the free PlayStation 5 upgrade.

In addition “large scale expansion” entitled Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guided Allies Offlinewhich will last the same duration as the base game, will arrive in the Japanese spring of next year, with no set date yet.

Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline is developed by BB Studiowhile Square Enix‎‎ takes care of publishing.

It is worth remembering that the original version of Dragon Quest 10 arrived in Japan in August 2012 to Nintendo Wii and since then, fans have been asking for a western edition.

The reason this never happened is simple, according to the producer. Yosuke Saito: the franchise had never been very successful outside the country of origin.

“Occasionally we talk about an offline version, but I don’t think it’s impossible. It would be fantastic if it were possible to introduce the game to consumers.”

He declared in an interview published four years ago.
