How to make and use a Magnetite in Minecraft

In Minecraft, Magnetite is a block that changes the direction of a compass. As many of you may already know, the compass points to your birthplace in the game. It turns out, unfortunately, this isn’t always helpful. That’s because, if you build your base in the same place where you first appear in your world, the compass will always point to “home”.

However, if your base is built far away from where you were born, the compass will become somewhat “useless”. So we at CodioDesk decided to make this guide where we will teach you how to make and use a Magnetite in Minecraft!

How to make and use a Magnetite in Minecraft

Making this item is surprisingly simple (provided you already have the necessary items). That’s because to make a Magnetite, you’ll need 1 Netherite Bar and 8 Hewn Stone Bricks.

When you already have all these items at hand, just combine them in a Workbench, as follows:

Using this item is very simple. If you want a Compass to point to your base that was built in a location other than where you first appeared in the world, just place a Magnetite there. Then, hold the Compass in your hand and interact with Magnetite. When you do that, that compass will always point to that Magnetite. Now, if Magnetite is broken, your compass will spin forever and will no longer be useful.
