It is possible to remove aggression from NPCs in Elden Ring to make the gameplay a little more friendly. It turns out that many players don’t know how to do this. So, we at CodioDesk decided to make this guide where we will teach you how to remove aggression from NPCs in Elden Ring!
How to remove aggression from NPCs in Elden Ring
Absolution, also known as Atonement, is a system in Elden Ring that grants players a second chance with an angry NPC, allaying their seemingly permanent hostility. This feature allows the Spotted to restore its relationship with an NPC and normally continue business or quests as before. So, to remove hostility from NPCs in Elden Ring, players must visit the Church of Vows. This landmark is across the lake from Academia Raya Lucaria in the Liurnia region. To reach this location, the Spotted will need to go through Stormveil Castle in Limgrave.
Despite being relatively close to the starting area, Stormveil is a higher-level area recommended only for those who are between levels 30 and 40 and have +3 or +4 upgraded gear. So if players have caused an NPC to become hostile in the Limgrave region of Elden Ring or Caelid, they will need to progress through Stormveil to eastern Liurna before they can use Absolution.
It should be noted that the Elden Ring Atonement service comes at the cost of a rare item called Heavenly Dew. The item cannot be crafted, which means there is a limited supply of Heavenly Dew in the Midlands. Fortunately, a Heavenly Dew can be found very close to the Church of Vows. From the church, players must travel directly east to reach the Well of the River Ainsel. Here, players can take the elevator down to the River Ainsel, where they will find a nomadic trader who will have Heavenly Dew for sale for 7,500 runes.
Another Celestial Dew can be purchased from Pidia, a Carian Servant in Caria Manor. However, this merchant NPC is a bit difficult to find. Players will need to fall from nearby cliffs on the southwest side to reach Pidia’s location. Several other Heavenly Dews are hidden in the Eternal City, an area that the Spotted will likely reach later in the game.
Once players have Heavenly Dew, they can go to the Church of Vows and interact with the statue on the altar to atone for their sins. This will remove any hostility from the NPCs. Thus, players can continue their quests and shop in stores without worrying about inconvenient aggression.
