When you want to keep your Mac safe, it’s important to use a lock password to protect all the things on your computer that matter to you.
When you log in as a Guest, there’s a significant risk that another user will be able to access your files and data. Be sure to log in on the macOS login screen so nobody can find out your personal login information. This way, anyone using your Mac won’t be able to log in due to the Secure User Password Protection turned on.
Find out in the tutorial below how to set a new password or change your Mac’s current password.
How to Set or Change Mac Password
Step 1: in your Mac’s System Preferences, go to “Users & Groups”.
Step 2: In the “Password” tab, if your Mac already has a password, find the “Change Password” option. If your Mac doesn’t already have it, click to set a lock password on your machine.
Step 3: in the window that will open on the screen, fill in the fields as indicated to change your current password or set a lock password on your Mac.
