Indiana Jones 5 could be the last film of John Williams’ career

John Williams hinted that Indiana Jones 5 might be his last movie. The famous composer has already left his mark throughout the world of cinema, having created a diverse and remarkable work in the most diverse cinematographic genres.

In an interview with Associated Press the composer declared that he could be retiring from film compositions to just perform live. Williams he’s been composing several hits for six decades, and a change of pace might be something he needs for himself.

The 90-year-old songwriter knows the music must keep flowing, whether live or on the big screen. He wanted to make it clear that he is not closing the door, but finding some time for other activities.

“I’m currently working on ‘Indiana Jones 5,’ which Harrison Ford (who is a little younger than I am) I think has announced will be his last film,” Williams began. “So I thought, if Harrison can do it, maybe I can too.”

“I don’t want to be seen as categorically putting off any activity,” Williams laughed during the interview. “I don’t know how to play tennis, but I like to believe that maybe one day I can.”

the new movie of Indiana Jones should be set at the beginning of the space race, with Indy (Harrison Ford) once again facing off against his favorite enemies, the Nazis. ‎‎Mads Mikkelsen‎‎ ‎‎will play the villain, described as “a Nazi scientist enlisted in NASA by the US government to work on the moon landing initiative”.‎

The cast also brings Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanted), and Boyd Holbrook (Logan).

Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for June 30, 2023, with James Mangold (Logan) in the direction.
